Introducing CORDA 2.0!

From Anti-Tech to Digital Enthusiasts
Anyone who knows Anna and I personally knows we can be a bit anti-technology at times (case in point: Anna refuses to own a smartphone). Yes, technology has many advantages. Without the internet CORDA probably wouldn’t even exist! But so often it seems like our devices only serve to distract us, leading us further away from reality (the world, other people) rather than deeper into it.
Recently, though, we’ve had a change of heart. You might even say we’ve come to see the (bright blue backlit) light! CORDA is going digital.
Introducing Infinite Flame©
If we’re going to do something, we’re going to go all in. So for our first foray into the digital world we wanted to create something really cutting edge, something no one else has done.
Without further ado, we’re excited to introduce Infinite Flame, the world’s first ever augmented reality candle! Gone are the days of needing to find a match or fumble for a lighter. Now you can easily “light” your CORDA candle with the simple tap of a screen!

Through the magic of augmented reality (superimposing computer-generated images on real-world objects), we’ve totally recreated the candle burning experience.
No smoke, no heat, no melted wax, just tiny pixels of LED flame gently flickering across your screen.
And the best part? Infinite burn time! Our custom coconut-wax blend already lasts an impressive 45 hours, but this new Infinite Flame candle will never burn out.
Welcome to the future of liturgical living. Welcome to CORDA 2.0 . . .
APRIL FOOLS!
Technology brings with it some amazing benefits, it’s true, not least being able to communicate with all of you! But here at CORDA, Anna and I believe that the digital is meant to serve the real, not replace it.
We love the physical, tangible, “incarnational” aspect of CORDA: making real things with our own two hands and sending them out into the world. And our hope is that, like a little sacrament, each of our candles “embodies” (en-scents?) an invisible reality, making present in a physical way one of the saints or some aspect of the faith and helping to bring it into the everyday.
There’s no app for that!
The truth is that it’s only here, in the everyday real world of God’s good creation, that we’re given to live out our vocations and become the saints we're called to be.

Joke's on us! It took a lot of time to learn enough real tech to create a realistic fake!
