Through his prodigious theological works and beautiful Eucharistic hymns, Thomas teaches clearly the truth of God. But after being given a vision of Christ near the end of his life, this Doctor of the Church found he could write no more, saying that all of his works seemed like straw compared to the glory he had seen.
St. Thomas’s feast day is January 28.

You’ll get the cleanest, longest, and safest burn from your candle with a few simple steps:
- Always trim the wick before lighting to 1/8”–1/4”
- Burn until the melted wax reaches edge to edge, or very nearly, to reduce tunneling
- Burn only up to 4 hours at a time
- Always keep a burning candle in sight, away from flammable materials, out of drafts, out of reach of pets and children, and on a heat-safe surface
- Keep out of direct sunlight
I love all of Corda’s candles but Summa is one of my very favorites for study time!
Summa was one of four candles ever purchased after discovering Corda. With such a glorious variety I simply “guessed” what I might like then ordered online. I’m SO pleased with each…but the Summa stood out as a favorite with such a heavenly, delicate scent! Most inspiring for prayer!

I have a son who is very musically inclined. He writes thought provoking lyrics to his songs. He also brews beer and creates amazing, inspirational labels depending on the beer and its recipient. I imagined him praying in the presence of this candle and being inspired by the beautiful mind of St Thomas Aquinas. I love the idea of bringing the saints into my presence by the smell of your wonderful candles.

I purchased for the first time and got 4 candles, I chose summa as a gift because it reminded me very much of a friend who book binds, and the description of ink and books had me intrigued. I love them all so far, summa is a slightly more masculine clean scent but very nice and subtle.
The candles were incredible gifts for the volunteers at our church! Everything was beautiful and smelled amazing! Highly recommend!
