Behind the Inspiration
This Doctor of the Church’s profound writings on the interior life were born from decades of struggle with prayer as well as lifelong physical suffering. Peaceful and transportive, her candle’s scents call to mind her mysticism, and are also helpful for those suffering headaches, of whom Teresa is the patron saint.
St. Teresa’s feast day is October 15.

You’ll get the cleanest, longest, and safest burn from your candle with a few simple steps:
- Always trim the wick before lighting to 1/8”–1/4”
- Burn until the melted wax reaches edge to edge, or very nearly, to reduce tunneling
- Burn only up to 4 hours at a time
- Always keep a burning candle in sight, away from flammable materials, out of drafts, out of reach of pets and children, and on a heat-safe surface
- Keep out of direct sunlight
I have enjoyed every single scent that CORDA makes. But I guess it’s like one’s choice of perfume: some aromas just bring joy and beauty straight to one’s heart through the olfactory sense. Maybe I am just partial to mint, eucalyptus, and sage, since I love to grow herbs in my garden. Or maybe St. Teresa of Avila is interceding for me.
