Behind the Inspiration

Night Prayer, or Compline, is the final office prayed before bed. The aromas of lavender, vanilla, and amber are known to promote relaxation, relieve stress, and induce sleep.

This prayer is an antiphon for Compline:
"Protect us, Lord, as we stay awake; watch over us as we sleep, that awake, we may keep watch with Christ, and asleep, rest in his peace."
