Behind the Inspiration
All through the day and night, the Divine Office, also known as the Liturgy of the Hours, is prayed by religious, priests, and faithful around the world for the whole Church. Morning Prayer, or Lauds, is the first office prayed after rising for the day.

Fresh dew and juniper berry bring to mind a peaceful sunrise, while bright citrus is energizing for the day ahead.

Jar candle: 6 oz with a 45 hour burn time

Each candle is handcrafted with CORDA's proprietary coconut wax blend, custom phthalate-free fragrances blended in-house, and a cotton and paper wick primed with all-natural wax. Learn more about the ingredients here.

You’ll get the cleanest, longest, and safest burn from your candle with a few simple steps:

Always trim the wick before lighting to 1/8”–1/4”
Burn until the melted wax reaches edge to edge, or very nearly, to reduce tunneling
Burn only up to 4 hours at a time
Always keep a burning candle in sight, away from flammable materials, out of drafts, out of reach of pets and children, and on a heat-safe surface
Keep out of direct sunlight

Lauds is the most amazing non toxic candle! It is such a strong and pleasant and calming scent. Iv had several people comment on how amazing it smells. I plan to buy several more for others and for my house! I’m looking forward to trying the other scents as well!

This far, this is my favorite fragrance. I can smell it in my room, even when the candle is not lit. I light it every morning for my quiet time and it has been a great blessing. I am looking forward to trying all of their fragrances.

I ordered a Corda Candle because a good friend of mine, who is Catholic, posted about a fundraiser. So being the good friend that I am, I ordered one. It is probably the best candle I have ever owned; it burns so nicely and the scent is amazing. On mornings when I'm not working, I'll light it and spend time in The Word and in prayer. It is a nice addition to my quiet time with the Lord.

I am blessed with the opportunity to spend an hour with the Lord first thing in the morning. At that time, it’s usually dark. I light my CORDA candle to dispel that darkness and bring in the light of Christ. The candles are well made with love. The quality wax burns evenly emitting a fragrance that subtly fills the space of prayer that I am in. Soon rises the sun and the dawn of a new day. I extinguish my candle inhaling the scents as the cloud of smoke of my prayers are lifted up to God.
