Behind the Inspiration
The biracial child of unmarried parents, Martin was apprenticed at an early age to a barber-surgeon to support his single mother. After becoming a Dominican brother, he was able to use these skills in the infirmary. The humble Martin was known for working miracles, including planting a lemon tree that always bore fruit.
St. Martin’s feast day is November 3.

You’ll get the cleanest, longest, and safest burn from your candle with a few simple steps:
- Always trim the wick before lighting to 1/8”–1/4”
- Burn until the melted wax reaches edge to edge, or very nearly, to reduce tunneling
- Burn only up to 4 hours at a time
- Always keep a burning candle in sight, away from flammable materials, out of drafts, out of reach of pets and children, and on a heat-safe surface
- Keep out of direct sunlight

This was my first time buying from CORDA candles and I was super impressed! I purchased Healing Peace as an Easter gift for my young son as he loves when we lighting candles during prayer time but is quick to call them "too stinky" if they have too big of scents. Since I started buying Corda candles, I’ve kept track of which ones I’ve ordered and have noted which are my favorites. ‘Healing Peace’ absolutely TOPS the list! It’s not overpowering, not too sweet, and not so light that you can’t smell it; it’s just perfectly refreshing.
I have not burned these (most of them will be given as holiday gifts) but so far from their boxes, they smell absolutely amazing! I mean, they may honestly be the most luxurious candle scents I have ever smelled. And I am extremely appreciative of the care that was put into each for an hour home we do not burn any synthetic fragrances. Can’t wait to try ours our real soon!
