Behind the Inspiration
As a concrete sign of his presence, a pillar of fire and cloud guides God's people through the wilderness, and overshadows the tabernacle where he meets Moses face to face. Fire and cloud appear also at Sinai when God reveals himself to Israel and makes his covenant with them. Fire manifests God's glory and burning love, while cloud symbolizes the hiddenness and mystery of the divine.

Each candle is handcrafted with CORDA's proprietary coconut wax blend, custom phthalate-free fragrances blended in-house, and a cotton and paper wick primed with all-natural wax. Learn more about the ingredients here.

You’ll get the cleanest, longest, and safest burn from your candle with a few simple steps:

Always trim the wick before lighting to 1/8”–1/4”
Burn until the melted wax reaches edge to edge, or very nearly, to reduce tunneling
Burn only up to 4 hours at a time
Always keep a burning candle in sight, away from flammable materials, out of drafts, out of reach of pets and children, and on a heat-safe surface
Keep out of direct sunlight

New scent, new favorite!

I love this new fragrance, both for what it represents and the way it smells. First, the fragrance - it genuinely smells like the smoke from a fire, while not too potent or overwhelming. It is subtle, but very true to its name. Second, the inspiration behind this candle is powerful. And I equally appreciate, not only the description on the packaging and website, but also the additional blog entry that corresponded with it. I appreciated it all the more as I lit the candle having read the devotion and intention and, upon lighting, it helped set my heart and mind in the wilderness with Him remembering His faithful presence and kindness. Lastly, I gave one to a friend as a gift to light during his time in prayer and study and I printed out the blog and included it in the gift bag for him to read as well.

It’s as inspiring as I hoped it would be!

Purchased the Fire & Smoke scent - seemed like just the right scent for my prayer space. Also purchased the tea lights to sample the other scents (and receive a free gift as an Abiding Together podcast listener!). They are all amazing, and I can’t wait to purchase and share with others!

Transport Yourself

I have been purchasing Corda candles for some time now for our office. We have tried quite a few of the different scents. We definitely have our favorites. Fire & Cloud is one of them. We work for the Diocese of Orlando and Fire & Cloud really does set the tone for Lent. It has familiar scents that you will smell in Church, mingled together with notes of sandalwood and musk. You can't help your senses as they transport you into a deeper prayer time! We are thankful to Corda for how they help us set the right tone for our time with the Lord!
