Behind the Inspiration
As a concrete sign of his presence, a pillar of fire and cloud guides God's people through the wilderness, and overshadows the tabernacle where he meets Moses face to face. Fire and cloud appear also at Sinai when God reveals himself to Israel and makes his covenant with them. Fire manifests God's glory and burning love, while cloud symbolizes the hiddenness and mystery of the divine.

You’ll get the cleanest, longest, and safest burn from your candle with a few simple steps:
- Always trim the wick before lighting to 1/8”–1/4”
- Burn until the melted wax reaches edge to edge, or very nearly, to reduce tunneling
- Burn only up to 4 hours at a time
- Always keep a burning candle in sight, away from flammable materials, out of drafts, out of reach of pets and children, and on a heat-safe surface
- Keep out of direct sunlight
When I pray with this candle it helps me settle into the grace of growing in trust that the Lord Himself is gently guiding me and I can trust His voice.
I am giving the candle fire and cloud to a dear friend of mine. We lead a Bible study together, and our study this year was the Pentateuch. I wanted to her to have this candle as a reminder of the fire and cloud that protected the Israelites through their desert journey.

I am in a class covering the Old Testament historical books, and we are just finishing the book of Exodus. I bought this candle as a Christmas gift for my instructor, knowing it would be meaningful to her. I have purchased many many Corda candles over the years, and they never disappoint - they are wonderfully and meaningfully scented, long burning, and always lift my thoughts to spiritual realities. It is a warm, subtle smell that is very smooth and relaxing. It leans a bit more masculine smelling with what reminds me of hints of vanilla but is very subtle and not overpowering. We do not like overly powerful smells or things that are too floral-like so this one was perfect for a warm, smooth aroma.

Amber is my favorite scent ingredient, so when I saw this candle, beside the symbolism of the pillar of fire, ya got me!
Just what I expected: a wonderful subtle smokiness tempered with calming sandalwood and musk. Perfect!
I usually don't buy the same scented candle three times consecutively, but this one I did. The name of this candle might be a bit deceiving, but Fire & Cloud is quickly becoming my personal favorite. A sweet-smelling aroma of campfire with hints of musk. You'll love it!
